Tournaments are held in a pick-your-partner format. Each team shall consist of one adult and one youth participant per-boat.

Tournament hours will be declared at the boat ramp before each event. It is the responsibility of the adult angler to report in on time for the afternoon check-in. Each angler will be given a numbered poker chip during am check-in. That chip must be turned in to a MSJBC director at afternoon check-in. Examples: PM check-in 1:30p/pm weigh-in 1:45p during the pm check-in competitors MAY NOT BRING ANY FISH TO THE SCALE AREA. Only after the 15 minute check-in time has passed may anglers bring fish to the scales. ALL FISH MUST be brought to the scales in a weigh-in bag with sufficient water to submerge all fish. Any angler who fails to follow this procedure will be disqualified for that day’s competition.

Should a team of fishermen need to leave before tournament hours are over they will not be able to weigh-in fish via another fisherman. In the instance of a two day competition fisherman who do not complete both days of competition will forfeit all weight and receive only show points.

State Competition - Youth who wish to compete in the State Championship must have competed in four of the previous eight MSJBC events, and be a current dues paid member to be eligible for the FLW/TBF State Competition.

Annual dues of $140 must be paid in full before coming eligible for competition. All forms and waivers must be signed and returned before the team may compete. $140 pays all FLW-TBF dues and buys a custom jersey for youth participants. If a second child is added, his/her dues will be 105$. Fathers or mothers may buy a jersey for 75$.

• Each boat must be currently insured and have a functional live-well.
• While on the water all youth participants must have on a certified PFD this is state law.
• At no time may a youth participant operate a boat (out board) unless that youth possesses a state issued water craft certificate.
• All tournaments will have a live fish weigh-in and the MSJBC will observe all lake slot weights and limits. 12” minimum length on all fish unless lake rules differ.
• Participants who weigh-in a slot fish will loss that fish and their largest fish.
• No dead fish may be released back in the water at the end of a MSJBC tournament.
• Sportsmanship is everything.

We are doing this for our kids - therefore poor sportsmanship during any MSJBC event will not be tolerated. Each of you are expected to conduct yourselves as ambassadors for our sport.

Each tournament will be held as follows: Adults fish against adults for one fish. Adults may not share their fish with thier youth co-angler and youth may not share fish with adult partners.. There will be a 6-13 year old competition and a 14-18 year old competition. Each division of youth is fishing for a five fish limit. Each of the three divisions will be rewarded points at each tournament. Trophies for youth 1st-2nd-3rd in both age divisions.

• First place: 25 pts.
• Second place: 24 pts
• Third place: 23 pts
• Fourth place: 22 pts.
• Fifth place: 21 pts.
• etc. etc. etc.

Angler of the Year will be decided by each participant’s best five events. Each angler may also earn up to thirty“show”points. Five points per event for a maximum of six events. In the event of a tie the total weight for the season of each participant in question will provide the tie breaker. Any tie in points that cannot be decided by the total weight will be broken by a coin toss decision.

An optional $20 Big Bass Pot is offered to adult participants in winner take all format with a 19 boat field. A 20 boat & up field will result in a split Big Bass Pot that will pay 75% to first, 25% to second.

All fish must be Large Mouth, Small Mouth, or Spotted Bass. White Bass or Stripers are not permitted. Trolling-live bait-trot lines-fish traps are all prohibited. Participants may not leave the lake during the hours of competition.

Should a dispute arise during a MSJBC event the issue must be protested in writing with-in thirty minutes of weigh-in at the boat ramp the day of the event. Issues not settled the day of the event will be considered dead, not open to discussion on any level.

CONDUCT AND APPEARANCE

MSJBC youth are expected to conduct themselves in an orderly and respectful manner at all times during club events. Horse play - throwing objects around or into the lake and running around the boat ramp area are not allowed. If a MSJBC youth is seen acting in a disrespectful manner he or she will be penalized five championship points. If the youth in question has to be warned a second time the youth’s adult partner will be penalized five championship points. This rule will be in effect during the weigh-in also. Your fellow club members deserve the respect of your attention while they are weighing-in their fish. There will be no warnings.

All MSJBC youth participants must wear their official club shirt at all times during tournament hours and weigh-in ceremony. We want to project a positive appearance to all fellow fishermen on the water and the boat ramp. If a new team joins and does not have a a official jersey a temporary one will be provided for them to wear.

ANY FINAL JUDGEMENTS ON RULES LISTED ON THIS PAGE OR RULES IMPLIED BUT NOT LISTED THERE IN, IS LEFT TO THE SOLE DISCRESSION OF THE PRESIDENT, VP AND SECOND VP OF THE MID-SOUTH JUNIOR BASS CLUB.
